We hired New Leaf Interior Design to update the main floor bathroom, to re-design the upstairs finished attic space to add a powder room and closets in the bedrooms in our C category Heritage Home in East Vancouver. We are over the moon with the results - - it is gorgeous! Way beyond our expectations. I feel like I'm walking into a spa when I enter my main bath and I receive endless compliments on all the work. Kate Cannata, the founder and lead designer of New Leaf Interior Design was a pleasure to work with. She worked in a timely and respectful manner, delivering her services according to the agreed-upon timeframe. Kate provided us with an overall picture for design and presented us with choices for some of the details such as toilet, light fixtures, faucets, etc. The mixture of an overall plan with some narrowed options to choose from worked well with our style; although I don't doubt that Kate can determine quite easily a client's level of need to be hands on or off and adjust accordingly. Kate's knowledge and expertise went beyond the visual esthetics - - she has a clear understanding of structural issues which may place limitations on what can or cannot physically be accomplished in renovations (a valuable asset when considering a designer!). Further, New Leaf Interior Design's commitment to green business practices and focus on sustainability was a key consideration when making changes to a space where our family, including our young children, spend the bulk of their time living and breathing. Communication, a key part of this process, was excellent. Kate responded to queries quickly and efficiently. We always felt that we could speak our mind and that she would respond to our questions and requests with respect and patience. In short, Kate is very friendly and approachable; simply a lovely person. Our experience with New Leaf Interior Design was an entirely pleasant one and I can recommend them without hesitation or reservation.
